Sunday 26th January – Commemoration of the Death of King Charles I Uncategorised 14th January 2025 Every year (the pandemic apart) on the last Sunday in January, the King’s Army (the Royalist section of the English Civil War Society) muster on the Mall in London. Then they process, in funeral array, to the combined beat of all the Army’s drums, down the Mall and onto Horse Guards Parade where a ceremony of commemoration is held. This is, of course, a great privilege and an occasion we all look forward to. It is also a chance to meet up again as most of us will not have seen each other since the last event back in September. We will be gathering on the Mall from about 9.00, although the procession does not start until about 11.30. This is an ideal opportunity for people to take photos and to come and talk to us.
